Thank-you email after an interview
Send it the same day. Mention one thing you talked about so it reads like you, not a template.
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to HiroHunt or stored.
Why send one
A thank-you note won’t turn a weak interview into an offer, but it does make you easy to remember, and it’s a second chance to make your strongest point. When two candidates are close, small things count.
What to put in it
- Thanks, in one line.
- One specific thing from the conversation, so it’s clearly about this interview.
- Why you fit, tied to that thing.
- A short close. No need to ask for a decision.
Panel interviews
Send a short note to each person if you have their emails, and change at least one line for each. If you only have the recruiter’s address, send one note and ask them to pass on your thanks.
Questions
How soon should I send it?
The same day, or the next morning at the latest.
Email or LinkedIn?
Email is best. If you only have someone’s LinkedIn, a shorter version as a message works.
Is anything stored?
No. Everything stays in your browser.
